How an Engagement Works
01
Assessment & Stability
Within days, I assess the immediate risks and cash requirements. The focus is on stabilizing operations and providing clear, frequent communication to the board and key stakeholders.
02
Strategy Execution
The core of the engagement: addressing the unresolved situation. Whether executing a turnaround, managing a sale, or rebuilding a leadership team, I lead as a sitting executive with full accountability.
03
Structured Handoff
Success is marked by a durable structure and a seamless transition to permanent leadership. I support the board in recruitment and ensure my successor is equipped for long-term focus.

Case Study: KINBER
Nathan Flood stepped up from Vice President to interim CEO of KINBER, Pennsylvania's research and education network, in 2019, in the middle of a strategic auction process to sell the organization's 2,000-plus-mile fiber network spanning 47 counties. While running the process, he renegotiated major commercial agreements and grew revenue 21%, strengthening the business heading into the transaction. He was named permanent CEO in June 2020 and closed the sale at the height of COVID, securing approvals from the Pennsylvania PUC, the Pennsylvania Attorney General, CFIUS, and NTIA. After the sale, he established a successor entity to continue research and education service and rebuilt the leadership team for the organization's next chapter.
